Jordi Bel's project, The Leb Trip is very different to his day job as Vocalist, Guitarist and Songwriter in Barcelona Psych Rockers, Stay. This is wonderful gentle Pastoral Folk Pop that provides an amazing chilled out vibe.
Joint Produced by Daniel Wylie, you will have some idea what to expect. The songs are understated, incredibly melodic and maybe more fitting to compare to the late 60s. Largely Acoustic and Piano led, it is a cracking soothing listen.
Having voiced up the gentle element, Bel cannot resist breaking into a cracking Psych solo on Crazy. a contrast to the Piano Pop of Time Is The Enemy. Rising High is a little more Jaunty, whilst sticking to the general vibe, there is also a hint of the Indie Pop of the 80s.
I'm reminded at times of Per Gessle's Acoustic Folk outings, both artists are vocally engaging and manage to fashion a way into memorable choruses. Rising High is an EP to sit back and enjoy, just letting this splendid offering wash over you.
You can listen to and buy the EP here.
